Bihar School of Yoga has been publishing books and articles on all aspects of yoga for over 40 years through its publishing house, Yoga Publications Trust. All Bihar Yoga publications are written by or under the guidance of our preceptors Swami Satyananda and Swami Niranjanananda Saraswati, and strive to maintain the authenticity, clarity and depth our tradition has become famous for.
Apart from elucidating ancient practices of yoga and tantra such as yoga nidra, antar mouna, kriya yoga, ajapa japa, dharana and dhyana, Swami Satyananda’s talks give deep insight into the vedic and upanishadic darshanas, and the evolution of vedic philosophy down through the ages.
His books have an immense practical application, as he deals with the aspects of good health and the unfoldment of human potential in a manner that could be easily applied in daily life.
These books form part of the syllabi in universities all over the world and are referred to by doctors and scientists to deepen their understanding of human existence in relation to the innate potential of human beings. One of the earliest books written by Swami Satyananda, Asana Pranayama Mudra Bandha, is a best seller and a permanent number one on the charts of yoga literature.
From Sri Swami Satyananda Saraswati’s initial teachings, other disciples have also authored books, covering an extensive variety of related subjects in their specific fields of research. These books deal with the therapeutic aspects of yoga as well as its importance for the evolution of human beings to superconsciousness.
